about

The Freaks head honchos were overwhelmed with joy to hear that globe trotting Space resident Javi Bora and contemporary house music enigma IAAM had been back in the studio together churning out some marvellous chunks of their funky disco pie.

A slap and a tickle later; Music For Freaks have wrapped two of these wonderful audio space cakes in the appropriate packaging and prepped them to serve to the public at large.

Lead cut Where’s The Tape is a laid back groover that is fine tuned to boogie. A Bootsy Collins’esque bass riff and nostalgic atmospherics are underpinned by a perfectly muted drum track and Nile Rogers style guitar licks to solidify the sound of the times.

Willy Is On The Groove fast forwards to later disco days. Just like the scene at the time, live elements have been overturned by the introduction of hardware. A dominant kick is now lord of the dance, accompanied by vintage drum programming and a driving bass riff that treads the thin line between the eras of funk and acid.

Can you dig it?

The fort was built to protect them from the normals - but also a place to build an army of associated miscreants that would slowly begin their attack on the offending world of bland dance music.
